Larry Fisher is set to take over as owner of the historic Chicago Cubs franchise after years of mismanagement that has left it on the brink of bankruptcy. Things begin to turn around with the discovery of Henry Rowengardner, a promising young athlete with mass public appeal. Larry quickly arranges to trade the rookie to keep the Cubs afloat, but the sleazy and underhanded actions of Henry’s manager threaten to ruin everything.
